I’ve had the pleasure of being part of the Together SC as a staff member for just over a year this month. What a year it has been for our organization, and our sector.
First, I want to take a minute to thank my incredible coworkers who have helped support our organization’s need to be more active than ever in public policy. I also thank our Board for their support of this work and strategic decisions around how we approach public policy.
And, I want to thank you - our nonprofit leaders, supporters, and friends. We’ve all had to step up in public policy more than ever before - and it’s had positive impacts at every level.
There’s still work to be done - challenges exist, and may persist.
If you and your team want to feel more confident, informed, and ready to navigate what’s ahead, I encourage you to join our Advocacy Allies Peer Network a welcoming space for nonprofit professionals engaging in public policy at all levels.
Throughout the year, our network is curating meaningful public policy learning opportunities - both in-person and virtually. From our first-ever Virtual Advocacy Boot Camp in early August, to our 3rd Annual Nonprofit Issues Forum in November, and a lot more planned - we’re here to make sure you’re ready.
We also are happy to announce that we have teamed up with our friends at the Arras Foundation and are working with two of their summer interns, Madelyn Allman and Hermone Siyum, to dive deeper into public policy and nonprofits. We look forward to their work this summer!
In the meantime, reach out if we can be of any assistance to you or your team.
