CEO Transition Announcement
After 13 years of dedicated service, Madeleine McGee, President & CEO of Together SC, has stepped down in September 2024. McGee has been a driving force behind the organization's success, catalyzing positive change and innovation within the nonprofit community of South Carolina.
Following a rigorous national search, Together SC's Board of Directors is pleased to announce Karen Riordan's appointment as the organization's new President and CEO. Dr. Shawn Edwards, Chair of the Board, shared the exciting news, emphasizing the Board's confidence in Riordan’s leadership to guide Together SC through its next chapter of supporting and strengthening South Carolina’s nonprofit sector.

As Madeleine McGee steps down, Together SC’s Board of Directors invites community members, nonprofit leaders, corporate partners, and philanthropic allies to honor her legacy by donating unrestricted funds to Together SC. These contributions will help sustain the work that Madeleine and her team have championed, ensuring that South Carolina’s nonprofit sector continues to grow and thrive.
- Aug 14, 2024 - The Boland Group, our selected search consultant firm, has been conducting comprehensive discussions with a wide range of stakeholders, including Together SC Board and team members, regarding essential leadership traits and skills required for the future of Together SC. The Transition Committee has met to review feedback from these conversations and to monitor progress on candidate sourcing. Interviews with the Transition Committee are scheduled to begin by mid-September, with the goal of announcing the new President by late September or early October.

July 2024 - Job Position Available on Career Center: Together SC seeks a new President & CEO, Remote ~$160k
- June 2024 - The Transition Committee selects an executive search firm, The Boland Group, with the search to be led by Ann Boland.
- The Committee received nine qualified proposals. Upon review, it was unanimously agreed that The Boland Group offered an approach to the search that best fit the Committee's objectives.
