Organization Overview
Established as the state support office in 2012, Habitat for Humanity South Carolina is a nonprofit housing organization that brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. The affiliate support organization expands the capacity of 29 local affiliates through advocacy, resource development, education and training, and disaster services. Serving 35 counties, Habitat affiliates have built over 3,014 new homes, repaired 1,185 houses, and rehabilitated 167 homes since 1978.
In 2020, the Habitat for Humanity network in South Carolina invested $33.6 million, helping 233 families as they achieved their goal of homeownership and directly employing 333 staff members. Habitat’s investment created nearly $62 million of total economic activity, supporting 518 total jobs and paying over $22 million in labor income.
