The South Carolina Arts Summit combines learning, networking, and advocacy over a two-day event in our state's capital. Join fellow creative professionals February 12 -13, 2020 to learn about the issues facing the arts industry, help shape the future of the arts in South Carolina, and connect with your state legislators.

Parking
Hotel guests can park in the Marriott garage for a daily rate. Those attending only the Legislative Day should consider parking in the garage on Lady St. City parking rates apply.

Wednesday, February 12
Location: Columbia Museum of Art
1:00pm | Advocacy Briefings - Get an update on the policy issues facing the creative industry at the state level, and receive some advocacy training to prepare your legislative visits on Thursday. [Included in Summit registration.]
3:30pm | Canvass of the People - Join the SC Arts Commission and other members of the creative community to help shape the agency's long-range plan for the arts. [Open to the Public. Included in Summit registration. Those wishing to only attend the Canvass session, and no other Summit events/sessions, should click here.]
6:00pm | Creative Gathering - Join other creative professionals for an evening of casual networking benefitting the SC Arts Alliance. Beer/wine and light appetizers provided. [Included in Summit registration. Available for purchase from non-Summit attendees.]

Thursday, February 13
Location: SC Statehouse
All events below are included in full Summit registration. Individuals can also register for only this day's events if not attending the full Summit.
7:30am | Legislative Breakfast - Join advocates and legislators for a full breakfast in the Blatt Building (Room 112) on the Statehouse grounds. Meet with your team to strategize about legislative meetings, hear from leaders in the field, and speak with legislators in this relaxed environment.
9:00am | Legislative Meetings - Led by your Regional Captain, make the rounds in the House and Senate office buildings, meet with legislators, and deliver important information to their offices about the impact of the arts in your community and state. Regional Captains work schedule meetings in advance. If you are interested in being a Regional Captain, click here.
11:30am | Rally at Statehouse - Meet at the front steps of the Statehouse and raise your voice (and signs) in support of the arts. Hear from key leaders, and also watch performances by students from Spartanburg District 1. After the rally, head out to lunch with your team, or head back to advocate in your community.
