Announcing My Departure in September 2024

For over 13 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with and learning from so many Together SC members and allies. Thank you for this opportunity. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together for the network, nonprofits, and communities across South Carolina.

It’s been my goal as Together SC’s CEO to build leaders. I’m pleased to report that your Together SC team is brimming with ability.

A recent three-year grant from the National Council of Nonprofits has allowed us to expand our advocacy efforts, making the team stronger than ever.  

This means it’s time for me to step aside and make room for fresh, bold leadership by others.

As Shawn Edwards, incoming Board Chair, and Paige Stephenson, outgoing chair and now Transition Committee Chair, shared during last week’s terrific Annual Membership Meeting (see the recap below), the Board is ready, willing, and able to navigate this transition. 

Their goal is to conduct an open, transparent process that brings on a new exec in the Fall. Be sure to review the Transition Committee’s plans, including the link to the search firm RFP. 

There is much to be done before September when I leave to recharge and design my next iteration of service.

For now, I hope you will accept my profound gratitude for your leadership and support in all that we have achieved together.
