My Goals as Your Board Chair
Hello Allies,
July marks a new (fiscal) year for Together SC and the beginning of my tenure as your Board Chair. It truly is an honor to serve!
Thankfully, I am joined by Tamela Spann who will serve as Vice Chair and lead the Governance Committee and Monroe Free who will serve as Treasurer and lead the Finance Committee.
My life’s mission is to make an impact in every space I enter. For accountability, I’ve set three goals for my work as chair. They are:

To recruit and onboard a new CEO who will amplify our current work and provide next-level leadership for our sector; (Special thanks to Paige Stephenson, Immediate Past Chair and now Chair of the CEO Transition Committee, which has already selected a search firm!)

To enhance access to resources to support our member organizations, regardless of size, via our annual Summit, Peer Networks, resource library, etc.; and,
-
To promote advocacy efforts that unify the voices of our sector and build common ground for our work.
Please join me in thanking retiring board member, Sherrie Snipes-Williams for her board service. We welcome Jason Crawley of the Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation and Jamie Cooper with Communities In Schools SC, to the board! They were unanimously elected by our active nonprofit member organizations, per our Bylaws.
Additionally, we welcome our Peer Network Leadership Team Chairs, new and returning, and thank them and their Leadership Teams for truly building the networks that sustain us.

As your Board, we collectively commit to amplifying Together SC’s Core Values and leading the organization as prescribed in our Board Member Responsibility Policy. We each care deeply about the work of Together SC and prioritize our policies, equity, and sound governance principles in our deliberations and decision-making.
